Once you are happy with the details you have provided, click the "create my new account" button. Now you need to wait for a Confirmation email to arrive from mylearningspace. This may take up to 48 hours. Please follow the instructions in this email when it arrives in order to confirm your account and login to the site.

2. Where is my Account Activation Email?

Please note that some email addresses (NHS Trusts, AOL and others) may cause the Account Activation email delivery to be delayed, blocked or redirected to a spam folder. This can be due to firewall and other email security restrictions beyond our control. If your Activation Email hasn't arrived within 48 hours please get in touch with mylearningspace support at:
mylearningspace@ncin.org.uk
.

3. I've forgotten my password What do I do?

You can request a new password from the mylearningspace web site. Again, on the login box on the frontpage you will see a link called 'Lost Password'. Simply click on this link and follow the instructions. An email will be sent to you asking you to confirm your request for a new password. You must follow the instructions in the email otherwise the system will not send you a new password. This is simply a security measure to stop hackers from stealing account details. Alternatively follow this link to get to the new password page.

7. Using your User Profile

As mentioned above when you register an account on mylearningspace you have access to your "User Profile". You can access your profile by clicking on your name at the top of the page. This appears once you have logged in to the site. The profile allows you to change your password, your email address, update your city or country, add a photo or picture to your account, add a description of yourself and your interests as well. We recommend that you have a look at your profile and fill out the various sections. Not all are compulsory so you do not have to fill them in if you don't want to. To update your details simply click on the "Edit profile" tab, which you can see in the screenshot below.

8. I'm logged in, now what can I look at?

There are many resources and items of interest on mylearningspace and more will be added over time. The best thing to do is browse and explore what is available. Below are explanations of the main items found on the mylearningspace frontpage. These will help you to navigate the site more easily.

8.1 Main Menu -
The Main Menu contains the most important links on the site.

8.2 Upcoming Events
List of our upcoming events can be seen in this block. More details can be found by clicking on the course you are interested in.

8.3 Navigation

We have tried to keep the design of mylearningspace simple so most resources or external links will open in a separate window, once viewed these can be closed and the home page will still be there.

If you take a link to one of our courses or resources sections then these will open in place of the home page. To navigate your way back it is better not to use the "back" button on your browser, instead use the breadcrumb trail which appears at the top of the item.

An example breadcrumb trail is shown below:

9. Sending and receiving messages

mylearningspace allows its users to send messages to other registered users within their course or forum. This can be a useful way for you to keep in touch with your course colleagues. You will find the message menu in the right column on the frontpage of the site and in every page you access. If you receive a message from someone you will be notified by a pop-up window when you login to the site.
